USA-Vietnam Trade Agreement-Outdoor Furniture
by Anonymous

GLENTRUAN INDOCHINA LTD. British/American owned and operated. Located in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Makers of fine outdoor and indoor furniture catering to markets around the world. Our current markets are New Zealand, Australia, and The United Kingdom. We focus, continually, on quality high-end furniture, on time delivery, better than competitive prices, and most of all, customer satisfaction. To date we do not have any unsatisfied customers, and will continue to maintain this record!

All of our furniture is manufactured to the highest standards. We use, proven, traditional wood working techniques with the aid of modern machinery. Mortise and tennon joints wherever possible, glues imported from the US (Franklin Multibond), rust proof fasteners, brass and stainless steel hardware, and attention to proper moisture contents & grain selection. For example our draw construction is solid timber (bottoms and backs). No cardboard or particleboard used in its construction. The joints are true box/comb joints.

To date seventy percent of our manufacturing is custom to customer specifications. We have clients, which either sends us mechanical drawings, renderings, pictures, and or actual samples. The development process is two weeks from initial quotation acceptance. We then develop and sample the piece, all within the two-week development period. Some clients prefer to visit Vietnam and approve the sample before production, whilst others prefer to have the sample air freighted to them for their approval. Either way we accommodate!

Production capacity, lead times, payment terms.
Currently our production capacity is ten to fifteen 40’ containers per month, with a lead-time of thirty days for 8 forty-foot containers. Payment terms are either Letters of Credit (Documentary Credits), or TTR’s (Telegraphic Transfer remittance) 30% deposit and 70% upon sight of Bill of lading. Please note that due to timber and hardware suppliers, price is dictated by volume.

Social Accountability and Sustainable timbers.
GLENTRUAN INDOCHINA LTD. Is aware and committed to customer concerns regarding Social Accountability and Sustainable timbers. We follow the standards and conformances of Social Accountability 8000 (please see attached standards). We work with various timbers from around the world and are committed to using sustained or certified timbers from managed forests and re-plantation programs.

Wherever possible, or required, we use true mortise and tenon joinery. This solid join, together with weather resistant glue, ensures a strong tight long lasting join. Our strict quality control process monitors every aspect of our production, from start to packaging.
